Their names are Timothy, Monique, Baddy and Osman. And they have something to say. They are actually asylum seekers from Sub-Saharan Africa. But most of us do not want to hear this, especially here in Switzerland, where the topic is eagerly ‘swept under the carpet’. Nevertheless they live among us. With their identity, their personality and their own history.
With their documentary film Voices in Transit Hanna Salzer and Philip Hofmänner lift the protagonists out of the anonymity and create an impressive and dense portrait of four people with uncertain residence permit status.
