2. THEMATIC PROJECT SERIES - COLONIALISM WITHOUT COLONIES?

We wish to retain into the second Thematic Project Series a dynamic that makes it possible to build long-term relationships with the artists and pursue lines of thematic content, artistically, curatorially and academically, across multiple individual projects. This is to take place in multiple stages, chapters, or “in progress”, and it is oriented against the idea of “package exhibits”. Within the context of the Thematic Project Series, we are working with the timeframe of one year for one theme. This procedure allows the audience, the participating artists as well as the Shedhalle team to be engaged with an issue or thematic complex more intensively and over a longer period of time. We thus continue to support a slowness that will permit long-term work with thematic focal points: “The mental comma instead of the full stop.”
